Mansukh Mandaviya asked Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to follow Covid rules during Bharat Jodo Yatra or suspend it in the interest of the nation. In separate letters to both the leaders, Mandaviya said that the Covid guidelines should be strictly followed during the yatra.

He said that the use of mask and sanitizer should be ensured and only those people who have been vaccinated should participate in it. The Health Minister referred to the letter from the BJP MPs expressing concern over the alleged spread of Covid due to travel.

Meanwhile, the Congress has criticized the letter. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said Mandaviya did not like Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo tour, but people are liking it.

The Union Health Ministry has asked all states and union territories to send each positive sample of Covid for genome testing on a daily basis. Investigation will reveal that no new form of Covid virus is coming out in the country.
