India expressed strong objection to the killing of Hindu leader in Bangladesh, demanded action from Yunus government

India has strongly condemned the brutal killing of prominent Hindu community leader Bhabesh Chandra Roy in Bangladesh. The Ministry of External Affairs described the incident as a worrying example of the systematic persecution of minorities under the interim government.

In an official statement, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that the incident is a clear indication of the ongoing violence against religious minorities in Bangladesh. He stressed that the interim government should ensure the safety of all citizens without any discrimination.

According to the development, Roy was abducted by four unidentified persons from his residence in Dinajpur district on Thursday evening. According to police and family statements, he received a phone call at 4:30 pm, following which the unidentified men on motorcycles forcibly took him to Narabari village and assaulted him. He was declared dead at a hospital in Dinajpur.

Opposition parties in India are also upset by the incident. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge drew attention to the atrocities against religious minorities in Bangladesh. He called the incident a matter of concern for India-Bangladesh relations and called for peace and harmony.
