India is poised to become the fifth largest economy in the world overtaking Britain
India is poised to overtake the UK to become the fifth largest economy in the world. In a tweet message, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the International Monetary Fund’s estimates show that India has overtaken the UK on an annual basis this year.
Based on these estimates, India ranks fifth, just behind the US, China, Japan and Germany. Sitharaman has said that a decade ago, India was ranked 11th among the largest economies, while the UK was at the 5th position.
According to this report, India is now ready to overtake many countries of the world. The Indian economy is showing signs of growing faster than China, the world’s second largest economy.
