More than 700 CCTV cameras will be installed around the Vaishno Devi temple complex in Jammu and Kashmir. The Temple Management Board has started issuing RFID cards to each pilgrim with the objective of tracking all pilgrims, proper crowd management and ease of registration of pilgrimage. In the year 2022, more than 91 lakh devotees visited the temple, which was the highest in the last nine years.
The Board has started issuing RFID based Yatra Cards for pilgrim tracking, crowd management and seamless registration. “The system from RFID to pilgrims includes e-surveillance through a specialized CCTV network of over 700 cameras,” the CEO said.
