North Korea Launches Ballistic Missiles; Japan Issued High Alert While South Korea Remains Vigilant

Tensions in East Asia flared once again on Sunday morning as North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles from its eastern coast. According to South Korean and Japanese defense ministries, the launch occurred near the city of Sinpo. The missiles traveled approximately 140 kilometers before falling into the sea outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
